The Basic Shop; Natural Bath & Body {Review & Giveaway} CLOSED

When it comes to bath & body products, only natural ingredients will be used on my body and my kids! Everything we use in our home is as chemical free as possible.

Every product within the online boutique is made from nature’s basics, such as, natural and organic ingredient. The Basic Shop was founded by a green entrepreneur, Lisa Kurtz, after using natural products herself. Ms Kurtz only works with manufactures who care about the products produced, customer satisfaction and the earth!

I can tell you first hand about The Basic Shop products, because I had the opportunity to review several great items! The Basic Shop sent me a goodie box of products for my review! The box contained their Bamboo Towel Set, Vanilla Lip Balm with Spf, Pure Beeswax Candle, and Grapefruit Bergamot Organic Body Lotion.

{The Bamboo Towels}

Of everything I got to review from The Basic Shop, the Bamboo towel set is my favorite! With 5 kids in the house we have a lot of towels and I have always thought I bought decent towels. That is, until I got my hands on the Bamboo towel set! The set includes a Bath towel, hand towel and face cloth. The bath towel is thick and pretty large, way bigger than most that I already had at least. Every piece is super soft, I am talking like a silky soft.

Normally I use two towels, one for my body and one for my hair. Since I started using the Bamboo towels, one towel is all I have used. It dries my hair and my body! The absorption is great, actually shocking compared to a thin cotton towel. I normally use a towel a few times before I wash it, so after use I hang it up to dry. I really like how fast the towels dry out, so no smell sinks in before it dries, so you can get more use from it before having to re-wash.

{The Grapefruit Body Lotion}

The Grapefruit Bergamot Body Lotion smells so good! It reminds me of a lightly-scented fruit smoothie! Made with  detoxifying infusion of Organic herbal extracts blended with Organic oils, butters, and vitamins, makes this light lotion the perfect anytime moisturizer of choice. I have used this lotion for several weeks on my hands, feet, legs, arms and even on my face and like it. There is no greasy feel and a little bit goes a long way.

{The Basic Shop Lip Balm}

The Basic Shop Lip Balm with SPF 15 works very well. My 4 year old has suffered with chapped lips for some times now. We have tried every type of lip balm, including prescription strength and nothing every healed her lips up perfectly. I decided to try the Basic Shop Lip Balm on her lips to see if it may help at all. To my surprise, after about 4 days of use I could see her lips starting to look better. I continued to apply it 2-3 times per day and in about a week and a half her lips were healed. No more cracked lips and her lips were back to how they should be!

This Lip Balm softens just as describer and has a wonderful light Vanilla scent.

I can not even begin to tell you how grateful I am for the opportunity to try the lip balm! As a mom, you feel pretty helpless when your child has an issue that you can not correct. I was skeptical when the lip balm arrived, after loosing faith anything would help. I am so glad I decided to give it a try! This lip balm works to keep lips silky smooth and I WILL RECOMMEND it to anyone who needs a good lip treatment! Oh and… I will be stocking up on it for sure!

{The Beeswax Candle}

The 100% pure beeswax travel candles are poured into recycled tins and infused with a light natural fragrance. I do not normally use a lot of candles because I am scared to burn the around the kids, so when this arrived I decided to use it the bathroom. I am a huge fan of relaxing in the tub with the lights turned low. Instead of using any lights, I have been burning the Beeswax candle every time I hop in the tub. The flickering light of the wick is relaxing to watch in pure silence!

For a small candle, it has lasted some time. I had used it at least 20 times and it is still half full! It is very lightly scented, actually if I use any bath salts I do not smell the candle at all. But, if I do not use anything else scented in the room when the candle is lit, I can small a hint of honey. A sweet delicate scent that I find relaxing. The candle has not produced any soot (the black stuff most candles produce when burning).

The size is perfect for any room in the house and small enough to pack in a suitcase for a romantic week away!

{My Experience With The Basic Shop}

I find the Basic Shop website easy to navigate, which is perfect for the not-so-internet-savvy user and easy for us internet pros. I love the founders passion to offer only natural goods that are good for everyone involved in the manufacturing process and purchasing process.

Everything I had the opportunity to review was well made, and is better than I expected. I will be keeping The Basic Shop in mind when I am looking for gifts!
