I painted my bathroom about one year ago with Benjamin Moore Natura. All was fine with it until recently when I touched it and found that the whole room was sticky. What now?

I was thinking of using Natura for one of my customers who requested this specific brand of zero VOC paints, but after I did some research I am not so sure any more, that I should use it. I have seen a few feed backs on this paint just like yours.

We had our painter use Natura in our living room and bedroom this week. The smell is giving me a headache and my chest hurts. We have windows cracked though it is quite cold out. I am a chemically sensitive person and assumed that the advertising for this paint was legitimate. Now that I go online and read the many problems with Natura's smell, I am heartbroken, as it seems for many users, the smell does not go away.

I had my entire home painted with Benjamin Moore's Natura Paint and ever since then I am sneezing constantly and my tongue is very irriated by fruit and coffee. I do not know what else to blame them on as I never had these symptoms before painting with this paint.

I have been tested by an allergist for 14 different fruits with skin tests and I am not allergic to the fruit, even though my tongue burns all day if I put fruit in my mouth.

Could this be the natura paint?

Natura Paint By Benjamin Moore is the most expensive of all the "eco-paints". Even though I do think it is a good product, I can only use it on high end jobs.

I do like the high end Jobs :)

I haven't had the flaking problem but I painted with Benjamin Moore Natura 1 month ago and the odor is still SO BAD in my apt. that I haven't been able to live there since. My apt. manager, neighbor and myself are taking turns trying to outgas it and it's making all three of us ill. There are many other reports of this online. DO NOT USE THIS PAINT & please spread the word to others so they don't have a horrible situation to deal with!!! There have been bad batches and there was a recall July 2010. However my can wasn't from that batch and it was still bad.

I am a house painter for over 6 years now and pride myself in being a low and no VOC painter. I recently used the brand Natura in a home and the walls went on beautifully. The ceiling paint in the Natura brand is total crap. It was like painting with plaster it was soooo thick. And the trim paint...well...let's just say I painted the trim almost two months ago and it's still tacky and in some places it's flaking off! My client is extremely nice about it but I quite disappointed myself. Not quite sure what to do about it!??? It's a lot of trim and time put into this and at this point money. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so what shouls I do to fix this problem?

I applied BM Natura paint to the walls and ceiling of my sunroom 6 months ago. While the white ceiling had no residual odor, the light-green walls remained tainted for 6 months (and showed no signs of improvement). I ripped down the sheetrock walls last week. The only good news is that I can now sit in that room for the first time in 6 months. The bad news: I'm staring at wall studs and plywood and winter is coming.

The paint not only smelled awful but induced terrible headaches as well, so their is obviously a very reactive chemical present. I think Benjamin Moore should be held accountable. Any attorneys out there looking for a class-action suit?

I have major issues with Benjamin Moore’s Natura paint. I painted 13 months ago, and I am STILL waiting for the outgassing to stop (which is insane considering that this paint is marketed as Zero VOC). We have to air out the house more than once a day with strong fans and all windows open for several hours a day. Even though I have found dozens of similar complaints with some people going as far as replacing the sheet rock, or moving out of their homes, Benjamin Moore claims to know nothing about the problem. I suspect, since some people are happy with their Natura paint, that Benjamin Moore has had some bad paint batches. Believe me, this is 100 times stronger (even a bit fishy smelling) than regular paint, but the fact that it doesn’t seem to ever completely outgas is what is most annoying.
