Reusable cloth diapers donated to Haiti and Africa

Happy Heinys, one of the largest manufacturers of reusable cloth diapers, has been working to help those who are less fortunate, by donating cloth diapers to Haiti and Africa. The modern family-owned business offers a range of environmentally safe and economical cloth diapering products. For the last 8 years, Happy Heinys has been sending reusable diapers to orphanages around the world and is not supporting relief efforts in Haiti.
“It all started 8 yrs ago when we received a picture of an infant no more than 3-4 months old sitting on a small glass pitcher. We soon learned that these babys sat on these homemade potties for hours each day due to the lack of diapering products available. Those who were lucky enough to have a diaper actually had an old worn rag wrapped around their diaper area. As a mom this broke my heart!”, states Linda Byerline CEO.
As soon as news of the Haiti earthquake broke, Happy Heinys could not move fast enough to start collecting and sending donations to those in need. The need for baby items suddenly soared. Happy Heinys put out the call to all of their retailers and customers asking everyone to please send us their donations of reusable diapers, infant clothing, blankets, and small toys. The outpouring was immediate and just amazing.Within days packages from all over the country were received.
Not only were the Happy Heinys retailers and customers extremely supportive in this effort but the celebrity backing was there as well. Constance Marie and Nicole Sullivan both sent down huge boxes of clothing and toys. Many celebrities participated in our auction for signed shirts and diaper starter kits. Just to name a few: Alaina Huffman, Nancy O’Dell, Evan Handler, Tiffany Thiessen, Craig Shoemaker, Marisol Nichols, Michelle Stafford, Jolie Fisher, and many more. With all of their help Happy Heinys has succeeded in sending off nearly 1 ton of reusable diapers and infant supplies. Plus items are still arriving daily.
