Natural Body Care by SEED {Review}
March 25, 2010 | Filled Under Green Giveaways, Product Reviews
Time and time again I hear people saying that natural body care products just don’t stack up with conventional body care items. While I have tried and test many different natural and organic body care brands, I can certainly understand how one could think that; because point blank many do not compare and costs double. How a body care product feels all boils down to the ingredients, when perfection is important natural body care products feel, smell and act in the same way as not-so-natural products, just without the health risks!
Let me introduce you to SEED “An Innovative Collection of Seed-Based Body Care Products That Harnesses The Power Of Nature To Enhance Your Natural Beauty.” SEED body care line is non-toxic, eco-friendly, and cruelty-free!

While searching for potent ingredients to enhance your daily body, co-founders Rebecca & Benjamin Gournay’s found the answer inside a grape seed. Each tiny grape seed is naturally rich in Vitamin E, a mix of antioxidants, and beneficial essential fatty acids, all known for healthy skin benefits. The result is a natural body care collection that not only feels good, but is good for you and the planet too.
SEED Body Care is 100% natural, and contains no harmful additives such as, preservatives, parabens, artificial colors, or petrochemicals. SEED is not only good for your skin but also easy on the planet! SEED packaging is recyclable and/or biodegradable and products like their shampoo bar, are designed into the form of a lathering bar to eliminate additional plastic use.
The SEED Natural Luxe Body Care Line Consists of:
Nourishing Body Lotion: Utilizing the power of grape seed oil, the natural lotion is rich in linoleic and essential fatty acids, which protects skin and aids in moisturizing. The lotion also includes soothing green tea extract and shea butter for extra conditioning benefits. Available in three different scents: Invigorating Citrus Blend, Restful Lavender Sage, and unscented. Retail : $8.99
Moisturizing Body Soap: This grape seed oil and extract enriched body soap includes an additional boost from refined pomegranate, apricot and strawberry seeds to gently exfoliate and cleanse! Available in two different scents: IInvigorating Citrus Thyme, and unscented. Retail : $4.49
Lathering Shampoo Bar: No plastic bottle needed for this natural shampoo, because it is in a bar with biodegradable packaging! This grape seed oil enriched shampoo also includes conditioning panthenol Pro-Vitamin B5 and fruit seed oils which are shown to moisturize and repair hair.
{My Feeling on SEED Products}
Being a body care product lover, I was so excited to try out the new SEED products! Obviously I liked the line or I would not be writing this today!
The last few weeks I have had the opportunity to try the SEED Nourishing Body Lotion in Restful Lavender Sage and Invigorating Citrus Blend, Moisturizing Body Soap and Lathering Shampoo Bar.
The Nourising Body Lotion absorbs quickly into the skin, so I did not feel oily at all. Both scents I was able to sample smell amazing! I would have to say the Restful Lavendar Sage was my favorite, even though I normally am not a big lavendar fan. It is not over-powering but smells very good, a very spring like scent! The Invigorating Citrus Blend lotion also smells wonderful and was the favorite amount my 6 & 4 year old daughters. (I guess they are like there mom when it comes to wanting soft skin, because they asked for their “potion” after every bath)
We have vary hard water here and it causes our skin to dry out, so a good lotion is vital to be used daily to keep our skin moisturized.
Out of the three products I tested, the Moisturizing Body Soap was my favorite! It has a “grainy” texture and left my skin feeling very refreshed, with no left over soap residue! The company says the Body Soap gently exfoliate and cleanses, and they are 100% honest there! I used the soap after a normal day and after a long jog (lets just say I was a bit sweaty). I felt fresh and clean after every use and felt like I had just visited a day spa! This moisturizing body soap rocks! 5 Stars in my book!
I used Lathering Shampoo Bar on my hair, which is short, dry and thick and on my daughters who have short hair that is thin. The shampoo bar lathers wonderfully and smells really good! The shampoo bar left a heavy feel in my hair after using it but did not in my daughters. I have always had to use conditioner in my hair and perhaps that is why I did not get the silky smooth feel I was looking for. Now, after using the Shampoo Bar on my daughters, their hair did NOT feel the same way, both had soft hair.
This specific Shampoo Bar was created for short hair or super fine hair that does not need a ton of conditioning. The company is in the process of creating another Shampoo Bar specifically for long hair; and maybe for those of us who need major conditioning!
{My overall thoughts on SEED products}
I was very impressed with the SEED body/skin care line and the companys commitment to sustainability! The claims the company makes are legit and the products are not only excellent, but affordable eco-friendly luxe that uses the power of nature!
SEED wants to get the word out about the new line and has offered to giveaway some SEED products to my loyal readers!

I bet I would love the grape seed enriched nourishing body lotion in the Invigorating Citrus Thyme scent!
I would like to try them because they have no animal ingredients and are not tested in animals and these are two VERY important factoids for me!
