When I am apparel shopping I generally look for a few things. How comfortable an item looks, what it is made from, and how it show’s off my style. Anyone who knows me or who have ever saw me, knows I am a pretty colorful person. From the clothing I elect to wear, right down to my multiple hair colors I sport every week.
You can often find me in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, as that is how I feel most comfortable. Now, when I am out on the town, that’s a different story. But, no matter where I am, I want to be comfortable. With not only the clothing I am wearing, but any message I may be sending. I’ll admit, I can be quiet a geek at times and do love to sport t-shirts that have important sayings or illustrations. That’s just who I am and I love to show off my beliefs and thoughts.
I am highly intelligent (dang near brilliant), unique, kind-hearted, down-to-earth, and last but not least beautiful! With that said, I like to show off who I really am. I’m more of a take-me-how-I-am kinda gal, than one who will conform to what someone thinks I should be.
When I heard about a brand new company, Meliciously Yours, and saw their statement-making t-shirts, I fell in love! Founded by, Melissa Slaven-Warren, who wanted a line of apparel that was n alternative to those narcissistic, self-centered affirmations found on today’s t-shirts. With the first six designs called Free, Beauty & Brains, Old Soul, Lady, Trustworthy, and Sensuous, each Meliciously Yours shirt design is hand illustrated showing the empowerment of women over the ages.

With a mission to offer unique designs influenced by the manners, opulence, timeless beauty, charm, and structured femininity synonymous with the Victorian era, but translate into modern meaningful and positive messages for women. Meliciously Yours obviously has a passion for fashion and desire to offer beautiful, intelligent women of all ages with positive messages on apparel.
Meliciously Yours is a boutique-inspired t-shirt created to empower fashion-conscious women to embrace their true personality and wear it proudly. Our products will always offer unique designs that celebrate the fun, positive, and independent characteristics of women ages 5 to 105 that symbolize elegance and simplicity – all in a T-Shirt!
Sizing Details
The basic crew and burnout crew T-shirts are made of 100% Vintage Soft, pre-shrunk cotton. They are form fitting to give you a feminine look. The organic crew is 100% organic cotton with a unisex regular fit which means it will skim the body but won’t be too tight or too loose.
What I Thought About My Meliciously Your T-shirt
Beauty & Brains T-Shirt
When Melissa agreed to send me a t-shirt for review, I was not only honored but stoked! I decided to pick the Beauty & Brains in the organic earth blue color. I selected that particular design because throughout history women have often been viewed as either beautiful or intelligent – but rarely both. I feel like I am both and wanted to show it off, in my new Meliciously Yours t-shirt! This design captures the ability and acceptance that today’s woman has for living a balanced life. Embrace your looks and your smarts – and strive to even the scale.
My shirt arrived quickly and I ripped into the package with excitement! The t-shirt was even prettier in person that I thought! The earth blue color, is more of a greenish shade, a combination of blue & green. The scale on the front of the t-shirt was so a reflection of my real personality and how I feel about every woman!
The Beauty & Brains t-shirt is super soft and a thin style shirt. Once thing I can not stand is a thick cotton t-shirt. It is way to hot here in the south for a heavy t-shirt, so the lightweight t-shirt is perfect for my liking!
Now, I am not a tiny girl, more of a curvy gal you could say. So, I decided to order the XL in hopes it would be a bit loose and not to body fitting. I seem to feel smaller when my tops are looser. The shirt fit me, and as I wanted it was very loose and comfy. I had plenty of room, actually could have used a size large to be more of a fitted style.
Free T-Shirt
The day after it arrived I had to wear it, I just could not wait any longer! It was pretty fun to see people’s faces while they tried to read what my shirt said or figure out what the design was! Several ladies asked me where I got it from and complimented on what a neat design it was. WOW, I love that!
I have washed the t-shirt a few times and it has not faded or misshaped at all. Nor, has it shrunk any (if so it was a very slight amount and I did not notice).
Overall I am so glad to have had the opportunity to work with Meliciously Yours and love (and I mean LOVE), my Beauty & Brains t-shirt! So much that I will be ordering the other designs very soon and giving Meliciously Yours t-shirts for gifts!
