Green Baby/Toddler Event #7; DaVinci Crib Review & $100 Hayneedle Giveaway CLOSED
July 8, 2010 | Filled Under Green Baby/Toddler Event, Green Giveaways
Shopping for babies can be a real task, especially when your picky. When I was shopping for nursery furniture or decor, often I would find one thing here, one thing there and then something else at another store. It can become a headache, checking out 10 times, going back and fourth between online stores and especially when your waiting for things from different companies.
Hayneedle realized how much easier it would be to be able to do all of your shopping at one place and created a easy-to-navigate website that allows shoppers to browse over 200 of their stores with one shopping cart! Hayneedle.com includes 220 stores and counting, each devoted to a single product category. From wicker furniture, baby cribs, toddler beds, solar lighting, sports equipment, to anything else you could ever be searching for, you can find within Hayneedle stores! That’s right, you can add 2, 3, or 30 things to your cart from every store and complete one checkout! How easy is that? Especially when your doing holiday shopping or shopping for several things at once.
When Hayneedle offered to let me review a product, I was excited (as always). Since Baby G is about ready to venture out into his own bed, I have been in the market for a crib. Not just any ole’ crib, but one that would last a while, was safe to use, beautiful and affordable. I headed over to Cribs.com (one of the 200+ Hayneedle owned stores) and began searching for the perfect baby crib.
After a few pages of cribs, I stumbled upon the DaVinci Emily II 4-in-1 Convertible Crib. The modern design is sleek and is not so baby-ish it can not be used as an older kids bed. The DaVinci Emily crib is made from sustainable New Zealand pine (a plus for anyone wanting to make eco-friendly purchases), available in 6 different baby-safe finishes, and the crib converts to toddler bed, daybed, or full-size bed.

I decided to get the Ebony (black) finish because everything matches black. Plus I was thinking longer-term and figured when we convert the crib into a twin bed, he would
probably(I hope) prefer a dark finish over a light (since light is more girly). From the time it was ordered, until the time it was delivered was a total of 3 days! Talk about speedy shipping! I was extremely pleased at the fast shipping.
The crib was packaged very well and arrived in perfect condition! Inside the box, all pieces were protected and individually wrapped.
It took about 35-40 minutes to put the crib together according to the easy to follow instructions. Since Baby G is just 9 months, I will be using it as a crib for some time, so I put the toddler rail in the closet for now.
The crib wood is thick, is very sturdy, well made, and even prettier in person! I am very pleased my choice of the DaVinci Emily crib! I can honestly say I am pleased with the overall design of the crib, features and the beautiful design! The crib looks like it costs way more than it really does!
Some Of My Favorite Features:
- The Crib converts into a toddler bed and into a fill-size bed, so it grows with your child’s developments! This one time purchase will last many many years!
- The toddler bed conversion guard rail included with the crib. Most cribs you have to purchase that separately!
- The crib is JPMA, CPSC and ASTM certified to ensure crib safety.
- Multiposition Mattress Support adjusts to 4 heights, so as baby grows, it can be lowered.
- The mattress lays on a springy steel base, rather than a flimsy fiberboard platform like many cribs.
- The front of the crib is a few inches lower than the back, making it easier for shorter people to lean in to pick baby up.
The DaVinci Emily II Convertible Crib is available in Ebony, Cherry, Honey Oak, Natural, White and Espresso. In the collection is also a Optional Chest and Changer available, in each finish.
Want it? You can purchase the DaVinci Emily II Crib here for $239.99 with FREE Shipping! (Free FedEx Ground shipping rates apply to the 48 Contiguous United States only.)

I like their full over full bunk beds with storage space. My grand daughters have a million (it seems) stuffed animals and they would love the room!
My son in the Navy & his family just came back to the states after 3yrs in Japan and are trying to get their new home in order. One of the things they were disappointed about was that the former owners took their swing off the enclosed porch. So I thought maybe a glider would be nice for them. I found Alpine 4-ft. Double Seat Glider Bench and think it would be very nice. I could not afford it unless I win, but it is fun think maybe I can!
