The Clean Bedroom is an retailer of fine organic mattress and bedding with an online store and also a showroom located in Kittery, Maine. Founded in 2004 by home furnishing marketers Theodore Duquette and Christine Chamberlin, who wanted to offer organic bedding products to the public along with industry information. The main focus of The Clean Bedroom is to help people make informed purchase decisions as they create a sustainable, green bedroom and organic nursery.
The Clean Bedroom sent me a Pure-Rest Apollo Organic Cotton Crib Mattress for my review. This organic crib mattress features organic cotton and natural chemical-free wool from organically raised sheep quilted to organic cotton mattress ticking to be resilient and comfortable for baby. This organic baby mattress has 260 coils for firm support. What a perfect addition to Baby G’s new crib!
With babies spending much of the early life sleeping, a safe crib mattress is just as important as any other major baby purchase. When sleeping babies inhale air just that can be filled with dangerous chemicals found in conventional mattresses. It’s just not worth the risk to me and I have made sure all of my 5 children have been in as chemical-free environments as possible.
Once the order was placed for the mattress, I had it in a few days. I was impressed with the quick shipping! When I opened the box I knew immediately this was not the typical flimsy crib mattress. The crib mattress actually had some weight to it and was not covered in plastic, as many traditional mattresses are. The mattress is covered in organic cotton, so there is no new plastic smell. This crib mattress is designed like an adult mattress is, in terms of over-all design. It is in no way like a traditional crib mattress, it’s more like a luxury crib mattress.
Leaf Pattern Decorating the Mattress
The top of the crib mattress is a cream/natural color, soft to touch, has no chemical smell, and has the word “organic” stitched across the mattress with leaves. Swirly lines quilt the entire mattress and the edges are finished off with professionally sewn stitching.
The Organic Apollo Crib Mattress is made with 260 coils of U.S. steel and fully quilted organic cotton batting layer for total stability, for 10-20 years of use. It’s then covered with organically grown and processed wool. Once covered in wool it’s quilted between 2 layer s of organic cotton for more breathability. No chemical treatments are use in the entire creation processes, making the Apollo Organic Mattress truly pure and safe for baby.

Baby G has slept well using his new Pure-Rest organic crib mattress! He actually has been sleeping all nite long and is not moving around as much, which I am assuming is from being totally comfortable.

I am very impressed with the loads of information provided by The Clean Bedroom on their website. It is designed for the consumer to locate important info, so they can make informed decisions. It shows they truly care about helping us make the best decisions for our family and guides people through the in’s-and-out’s of organic living.
I was impressed with the quick shipping! There is nothing more annoying than waiting two weeks for something to get shipped and the another week for delivery.
I love their website selection, they have everything literally for a comfortable natural night sleep!
