Closet full of clothing? Swap it for new!

January 13, 2010 | Filled Under Eco-Friendly Fashion

Do you have a closet full of clothing that no longer fits? Or clothing you just could never bring yourself to wearing? Instead of letting it collect dust, turn your old gear into something new via a clothing swap!

Swap-O-Rama-Rama can help you put unwanted clothing to use and get some new duds for yourself…at no cost! Swap-O-Rama-Rama is a clothing swap and series of do-it-yourself workshops in which a community explores creative reuse through the recycling of used clothing. Swap-O-Rama-Rama utilizes the existing surplus of clothing to create new-recycled goods, without consuming raw materials. This process of clothing recycling says everyone money and the earth resources!

If you demand sustainable or eco-friendly fashion, there is no better way to fill your closet with new clothes than those swapped via clothing recycling! When you attend the swap bring at least one bag of your unwanted clothing and a small donation (each swap varies depending on available funding). Every swap begins with a giant collective pile of clothing, the unwanted clothing of all who attend. Everyone is welcome to dive in and find their next new/used items from the pile. Take as little or as much clothing from this pile as you like, it’s all free.

Visit Swap-O-Rama-Rama to locate a swap near you!

Your right, I follow a lot of DIY blogs and am always so amazed at how people create the most gorgeous things that used to be so ugly! Plus, it is so eco friendly!
